Previous to my DC trip, when I heard the word pamper I always thought of diapers. Well. Now. I. Know. Differently. Below is my yelp review of the fabulous Ritz Carlton in our nation's capital...good ole Washington D to the mutha C!
Puttin' on the Ritz. Ritz Crackers. Ritz Carlton.
Favorite song. Favorite cracker. Favorite hotel. OK maybe not favorite song but I'm working a theme here people.
I stayed here for five glorious nights of pampering, pampering and yes, more pampering. When we checked into the room and noticed the one king size bed (instead of two...after all I was with a girl!) we were quickly whisked away to a larger room with two queen size beds. Queen! Ha...funny! Glitch solved. When we couldn't get the tub stopper to operate, a quick phone call and a short time later, problem solved.
Everyone from the bellmen to the front desk to the concierge to housekeeping and the overserving bar staff was friendly, professional and extremely helpful. This includes Loss/Prevention and Security as they were most helpful when I left my Hello Kitty B of A debit card in the bar one evening. Having to explain and describe the card was perhaps the highlight of the trip. "Well we have one here with a cat on it." ME: "Um, well, sir, actually that's Hello Kitty!"
Yep. My life!
From the lobby to the bar to the room and back to the bar...(hey, I WAS on vacation!)...all was exquisite! Our breakfasts were way Bed, Bath and Beyond your typical lobby "continental breakfasts"...including breakfast burritos, sourdough pancakes, thyme infused potatoes, freshly squeezed juiced and chocolate croissants.
And I don't even have a complaint about our room service splurge on a $30 Club Sandwich. Sandwich was $18. Delivery was $4. And my $6 tip with tax rounded up to a $30 sandwich. And at 2:00 am we devoured every bite of it. And the fries.
So thank you Ritz Carlton DC! You provided a great place for relaxation and pampering after a day of touring the city.
P.S. Please send me the bed from room 740. I will pay for shipping.
P.P. S. A big shout out to Shamrock Foods for making this all possible. I love you guys!
