Til we meet again my stranger friend. Oprah. I've been watching you since day one, my junior year in college. All my buddies gathered in the 10th floor lounge of Middlebrook Hall. The channel was tuned to Star Trek or Hogan's Heroes reruns. I quickly switched the channel to see this new chubby, black woman hosting a talk show with the MOST amazing energy and love. We were all hooked. Well, honestly, I lost a few of the die hard Trekkies, but I quickly went to my own room to continue to absorb and enjoy my new friends' platform.
Live your best life. Live the golden rule. Find your truth. Find your calling. Live in the moment.
What are your favorite Oprah memories?
Any Oprah memories you want to share?
I know. I know these seem like or even are cliches. But anything Oprah said, only confirmed what my parents taught me. I can be whatever I want to be. I am loved. Be compassionate. Be grateful. So I'm really thanking my amazing parents. But Oprah was the media vessel that reminded me and perhaps taught millions of others who didn't know "the secret".
So to all my bloggers I say find your passion. The money will follow. Find your calling. The love will follow. And always, always be grateful for what you have, rather than pine away for what you don't have.
Til we meet again.
With love,
Thomas
